Hot or Not - Week 13

HOT

QBs

Jay Cutler (CHI QB) vs. DET 8
Cutler had an awful stretch of games earlier in the season but flashed his talents last week against Philly for 247 yards and 4 TDs. Now he gets the Lions who he carved up for 372 yards and 2 TDs back in week one. Plus, there's a good chance Kyle Vanden Bosch sits out, so hopefully Cutler's sacks won't be in the double digits this time.

Josh Freeman (TB QB) vs. ATL 9
For an inexperienced signal-caller, Freeman has been remarkably consistent this year. And as well as Atlanta has been playing this year, they give up a lot of fantasy points to opposing QBs. That may be because opponents get down early and are forced to throw, but as long as Freeman gets fantasy points, you don't care if the team is up or down.

RBs

Mike Goodson (CAR RB) vs. SEA 6
Jon Stewart returned last week and outperformed Goodson on a YPC level. But I'm confident that after a string of 3 100 yard games, Goodson will still be very much involved. He missed some practice time this week for the birth of his child (babies are always getting in the way!), but I still expect Goodson to get at least as many carries as Stewart.

Felix Jones (DAL RB) vs. IND 8
Suddenly, the Dallas offense is quite competent! Marion Barber has been ruled out of this game so look for Felix to get 18+ carries. Even if Indy jumps out to a lead, Dallas knows Indy is more susceptible to the run and they want to keep the ball out of Peyton's hands.

WRs

Mike Williams (TB WR) vs. ATL 3
Despite Mike's disappointing output last week, I expect him to rebound as Tampa Bay passes to keep up with Atlanta on Sunday. This is a nice matchup for some deep bombs to go Williams' way.

NOT

QBs

Carson Palmer (CIN QB) vs. NO 32
Carson Palmer has had some big games this season, but he's not in the must-start category. You have to bench him in this league-worst matchup.

RBs

Jahvid Best / Maurice Morris (DET RBs) vs. CHI 26
Best had 1 snap and 0 touches on Thanksgiving. He's practicing this week, but you cannot count on him for double digit touches this week, let alone double digit fantasy points. However, Best (and Aaron Brown) should eat into Morris's carries just enough to make him a poor fantasy play in this tough matchup against the Bears.

Brandon Jackson (GB RB) vs. SF 24
I expect the Packers to whoop the Niners. Typically, you want to start the RB on a team that will be winning and running out the clock. However, the Packers don't rely on the running game to kill the clock. They'd much rather trust A-Rodg to steadily move the chains. Plus, if there's one thing San Fran is good at, it's stopping the run.

WRs

Nate Burleson (DET WR) vs. CHI 29
Nate Burleson was just coming into his own. It's a shame that Shaun Hill and Matt Stafford are out, because Drew Stanton really hurts the value of all Lions. Of course you're still starting Calvin Johnson, but I think Burleson is dropable in most leagues. He is at least not startable in tough matchups like this one.
