What I'm Watching Week One

It's like Christmas F*&king Eve! The day before the first full slate of Sunday games! I will probably need some Nyquil or heavy drinking (but not both) to ensure that I sleep through the night! Tomorrow will begin to reveal many of the storylines that we've speculated about for the past month. Here are the top things I'm excited to monitor this weekend:

The New Feature Backs
I've been pimping Beanie Wells, Tim Hightower, and Felix Jones hard. They all find themselves in the enviable situation of being the workhorse back. Now let's see if they can deliver. Of course, Hightower and Jones have tougher matchups against the Giants and Jets, so I'd start Wells over all of them.

The Miami Backfield
Cory and I have debated it on the podcast over and over, but I still maintain that Reggie Bush is overrated. Now is his chance with Daniel Thomas ailing (but likely to be active). Can Reggie get 100 yards and 20+ touches on Monday night?

Johnny Knox or Roy Williams?
Jay Cutler will be slinging it plenty under Mike Martz, but it's hard to get much done when you spend more time on your back than JWoww from the Jersey Shore. (I actually don't watch that show; is JWoww the slutty one? Should I have gone with Snooki?) Still, someone here will be serviceable. Williams has the inside track in Martz's heart, and is still listed as the #1 WR, despite Knox's superior talent. Let's see how they're used against the Falcons tomorrow!

The Search For This Year's Brandon Lloyd
I've said it a hundred times, but someone is going to be a stud on the Rams. Will it be Danny Amendola? Mike Sims-Walker? Brandon Gibson? It's a tough first matchup against the Eagles and Nnamde, so we cannot read too much into it, but exciting nonetheless.

Texans v. Colts
And the number one game for fantasy insight will be the Texans v. Colts game. Will Arian Foster play? (Probably not.) In his absence, will nominal starter Derrick Ward be the guy to own? Or will the more talented but unproven Ben Tate show off his explosiveness? More importantly, just how much will Kerry Collins drag down the entire Colts offense? Can Wayne, Collie, Garcon, and Clark be successful without Peyton? And how much will Joseph Addai suck? I expect him to get a lot of carries, so he has a golden opportunity to be a steal at his ADP. But can he manage a decent yards-per-carry? Only time will tell!

T-Minus 15 minutes! Feel free to ask questions here throughout the day, but I'll be doing more commentary on Twitter. So hit me up at @FFMVP with your questions and comments, and I'll respond with the typical hilarity and insight.
