After a little bit of week 1 data, our Hot or Not predictions in week 2 were much more accurate. We were correct on 25 calls, and wrong on 11. One significant possible misstep regards Brandon Jackson. First the coaching staff said they’re completely ready to commit to Jackson as their fulltime back. Then the staff turns around and reveals that they doubt that Brandon Jackson can carry the full load. We’re still holding out hope that Jackson can get something done and earn that starting job on Monday night (especially after spending a big chunk of our Free Agent budget on him in several leagues).
Interestingly, we missed on all 4 Hot WRs: Hines Ward, Wes Welker, Dez Bryant, and Jacoby Jones. Jones and Welker had TDs to save their days, but remember that our projections for RBs and WRs are for at least 75 yards.
We were spot on for all of the Sit WRs and RBs, most of all by choosing the committees. There are just not enough carries to produce a starting RB on most committees. And while last week, we got some justifiable pissy e-mails about placing Hakeem Nicks in the “NOT” category when he went off for 3 TDs, none of our mistakes in week 2 seemed that costly. Hopefully, we can keep that trend up in week 3.
Also, we have some smart readers because we completely agree with the poll results. Of course, Kolb came in last because he's not even starting for Philly anymore. Donovan McNabb came in first in his juicy matchup against St. Louis. Flacco came in 2nd and we too hope he can turn it around against Cleveland tomorrow. And Brett Favre came in third, despite the great matchup against Detroit. His age is showing, and so is his lack of receivers. If he doesn't produce tomorrow, you can drop Favre from your roster.
Good luck tomorrow!
